Florida State head coach Mike Norvell arrived at Central Arkansas as a walk-on. He kept working in the classroom and on the field and eventually earned a scholarship. Norvell immediately saw the rewards of what that money meant to his life as a college student-athlete and he’s reminded of it now when he makes a scholarship offer as a coach.

That’s today’s topic in part V of this five-part series produced by TheOsceola.com and presented by Seminole Boosters, Inc.

Part I: Football, passionate and humble beginnings

Part II: A childhood of constant change but football is a consistent

Coach Norvell is pure class! He represents every aspect of the game and university. He was just listed as the number 1 new coach hire by YARDBARKER and deserves the credit. Now we’ll see if our players respond to him. Go Noles

Really appreciate Coach Norvell taking the time to talk with us last week. We found him to be very candid and insightful.

His appreciation for earning a scholarship at Central Arkansas – it sounds like it was a partial as they were DII back then, I think – shows you a great deal and reflects on what it means to him to offer a scholarship now.
