Video chat: Catching up with Magdi El Shahawy

The Osceola’s video chat series continues as Jerry Kutz and Patrick Burnham sit down with former Florida State football player Magdi El Shahawy.

El Shahawy played at FSU from 1986-89, first as an offensive linemen and then as a defensive tackle. He has earned three degrees from FSU.

After 18 years as an administrator at Southern Cal, El Shahawy is now the Deputy Athletic Director – Academics and Student Development at the University of Georgia.

The Osceola spoke with the former Seminole about his career as an college athletics administrator, his family, memories from his FSU days and the impact of Covid-19 on athletic departments across the country.
