Two 4-star prospects highlight FSU’s latest round of offers

FSU and head coach Mike Norvell have offered at least seven prospects since Monday. Three of those offers went to prospects in the 2022 recruiting class, including highly sought after defensive tackle prospect Jamari Lyons. Norvell and staff also extend offers to three prospects for the 2023 recruiting cycle and one prospect from the class of 2024.

2022 Offers

DT Jamari Lyons (6-4, 295) – Melbourne (Fla.) Viera

Lyons announced his offer from FSU on Tuesday. He has also reported offers from Ohio State, Georgia, Texas A&M, USF and South Carolina in the last two months. 247Sports ranks Lyons as the 28th-best DT prospect in the country and the 42-best overall prospect from Florida in 2022. Other reported offers include Florida, Miami, NC State, Indiana and Nebraska, among others. As a junior Lyons totaled 79 tackles including 18 TFLs and 10 sacks.

LB Mekhi Mason (6-2, 220) – Opa Locka (Fla.) Monsignor Pace

Mason announced his offer from FSU via Twitter on Tuesday evening. He has also reported offers from UCF, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Pitt, Coastal Carolina, Mississippi State, Ole Miss and Wake Forest over the last two months.

S Wesley Miller (5-10, 184) – Columbus (Miss.) Heritage Academy

Miller announced his FSU offer via Twitter on Tuesday night. He has also reported offers from Ole Miss and Mississippi State in recent weeks.

2023 Offers

DE Darron Reed (6-5, 260) – Columbus (Ga.) Carver HS

Reed announced his offer from FSU via Twitter on Tuesday afternoon. His offer from FSU was his first.

RB Samuel Singleton, Jr. (6-0, 185) – Orange Park (Fla.) Fleming Island

Singleton announced his offer from FSU via Twitter on Tuesday afternoon. He has also reported offers from Miami, UCF, UConn, Virginia Tech and Cincinnati over recent months. Other reported offers include Kansas, NC State and Central Michigan. As a sophomore this past season Lyons rans for 921 yards on 101 carries in nine games.

WR Carnell Tate (6-2, 180) – Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy

Tate announced his offer from FSU on Monday. He has also reported offers from Arizona, Penn State, Georgia, Iowa State, Oregon State and Arizona State in recent weeks. Notre Dame, Michigan, Minnesota, Iowa and Cincinnati have also offered Tate. He is considered a four-star prospect by 247Sports, which ranks him as the 6th-best WR prospect in the country for the 2023 class.
