Class of 2021 defensive end prospect Byron Turner committed to Florida State on Thursday morning.
Turner, who 6-foot-3 and 237 pounds, is from New Orleans (La.) St. Augustine High School and his pledge to FSU coach Mike Norvell gives the Seminoles their 14th commitment towards its 2021 recruiting class.
“I am thrilled to announce that I would be committing to Florida State University,” Turner shared on Twitter.
FSU offered Turner in late June. He is considered a three-star prospect by 247Sports, which also has him ranked as the 27th-best SDE in the country and the 13th-best overall prospect in Louisiana. Turner is also reported to have offers from Baylor, Colorado, Houston, Texas, Texas Tech, Missouri and UCF among others.
Turner has good size, long arms and shows good quickness off the ball based of his HUDL highlight tape from his junior season. He is physical and shows good speed in pursuit. Turner can add substantial weight to his frame once he gets into the Seminoles’ strength and conditioning program next summer.
