Florida State point guard Trent Forrest was not drafted on Wednesday but quickly signed with the Utah Jazz on a two-way contract. Forrest’s move was first announced by theAthletic.com and confirmed by an FSU source.
Forrest’s contract will allow him to go between Utah and the team’s developmental league affiliate.
The 6-foot-4 Forrest averaged 11.6 points, 4.4 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game as a senior in 2019-20. He also led the team with 59 steals. Forrest shot 45.9 percent from the floor and 82.2 from the line.
NBA training camps are expected to open the week of Nov. 29 ahead of a Dec. 22 start to the 2020-21 season.
Patrick Williams was drafted by Chicago at No. 4 overall and Devin Vassell by San Antonio at No. 11 overall in Wednesday’s draft.
