Over the past few seasons the state championships have taken place in Orlando at Camping World Stadium. This year the state of Florida decided to break up the State Championship games and will play Class 1A-3A in Tallahassee at Gene Cox Stadium.

Once again we will see Madison County High School, which continues to be one of the premier programs in Florida. They match up against Blountstown High School.

In Class 2A Champagnat High School out of Hialeah will once again look to bring home a state title. They will go against Victory Christian, which is led by former FSU player Kendrick Stewart.

In Class 3A Chaminade is looking for a third straight title. They will go against Florida High. They are led by quarterback Willie Taggart Jr.

Champagnat Catholic

QB-Ryan Aguila – (2,536 Passing Yards – 22 Touchdowns / 7 Interceptions) (554 Yards Rushing/ 7 Touchdowns)

RB-Charles Montgomery – (502 Yards Rushing – 7 TD) Team Total -21 Rushing Touchdowns

WR-Johnquai Lewis – (613 Yards – 6 TD )

Jalen Harrell – 55 Tackles

Comments: FSU had a commitment from Jalen Harrell. He is one of the leaders of Champagnat defense. He brings a physical presence which can not only play the run but is very effective in the pass coverage. He has good size and length. He is a prospect that decided to de-commit and is now committed to University of Miami. Look for him to make an impact once again. The leader of the offense is Ryan Aguila. He has thrown for over 2,500 yards and 29 touchdowns. We would not be surprised to see him end up the MVP of the state title game. The top rusher for Champaganat is Charles Montgomery. He has been toting the rock for the Lions since his freshman season. He is now a senior and Montgomery gives them a nice running game.

Victory Christian

Jeremiah Byrd – (589 Passing Yards – 8TD / 2 Int)

Cornelius Shaw – (2,004 Rushing Yards – 20 Touchdowns)

Preston Smith – (225 Receiving – 3 TD)

Gabe Jean-Simon – LB- 116 Tackles – 1 Int.

Jeremiah Pauling – LB-96 Tackles – 1 Int.

Comments: Victory Christian is led by Kendrick Stewart, the former Lakeland Dreadnaught and FSU defensive tackle took over Victory Christian and now has them on the brink of a state title. Stewart has brought that same physical style of play that Lakeland has over the years to Victory Christian. Victory Christian is led by Cornelius Shaw, who has rushed for over 2,000 yards this year and crossed the goal line over 20 times. He will be the player that is counted on for Victory Christian to pull off the upset. On defense Gabe Jean Simon led all tacklers with 116. He also intercepted a pass. Not to be outdone, Jeremiah Pauling was 2nd in tackles with 96. For Victory to pull off the upset they will need to give a great team effort.
