Dozens of FSU football players, coaches and support staff participated in a volunteer beautification project at Riley Elementary on Wednesday.
Wearing garnet shirts that said “Tallahassee, Together” and “Service, Sacrifice, Respect,” they pressure washed and rebuilt benches. They also hung up wall graphics, helping to instill pride in the elementary school that is just a few miles north of FSU’s campus.
FSU coach Mike Norvell and players presented a check for $11,608 to Riley principal April Knight toward the school’s book drive.
The Seminoles plan to make their work at Riley a year-round effort. Florida State director of player development and operations Jeff Kupper detailed the team’s goals for Riley in a story that ran on the Osceola earlier this week.
