Seminole Sidelines Podcast: Veteran coach Wally Burnham on FSU LBs past and present

In episode five of the Osceola’s Seminole Sidelines Podcast we take a look at the FSU linebacker corps heading into the 2020 season. Osceola publisher Jerry Kutz, managing editor Bob Ferrante, football analyst Mark Salve and podcast host Patrick Burnham are joined by now-retired veteran college football defensive coordinator and former FSU linebackers coach Wally Burnham to talk about linebacker play and break down FSU’s personnel at all three linebacker spots in the Seminoles’ 4-3 defense.

Wally Burnham coached at FSU from 1985-93 and produced three players who won national awards while he tutored the linebackers for legendary head coach Bobby Bowden. Paul McGowan and Marvin Jones won the Butkus Award while being coached by Burnham, and Jones and Derrick Brooks won the Lombardi Award while playing for the veteran coach who enjoyed a 50-year career in college football. Burnham shares his memories of all three former Seminole greats, who he has remained in contact with for over 30 years.
