Seminole Sidelines: Former TE Dave Roberts talks FSU football past & present

On this week’s edition of the Osceola’s Seminole Sidelines Podcast, presented by Alumni Hall, former FSU tight end Dave Roberts joins host Pat Burnham, Osceola publisher Jerry Kutz and former FSU offensive lineman and Osceola Football Analyst Mark Salva to talk about FSU football past and present.

Roberts was a four-year letterman at FSU from 1987-1990 and currently runs his own law firm and is the offensive coordinator at South Walton High School in Santa Rosa Beach, Fla. Dave shares his thoughts on what he saw in FSU’s second spring scrimmage this past Saturday and the direction of the program under head coach Mike Norvell. We also talk about his path to FSU from Griffin, Ga., his playing career and his decision four years ago to become a high school football coach.

We also talk to Dave about the balancing act of coaching his son, Cade, who led the state of Florida in receiving yards this past season and who is currently hearing from and being recruited by Norvell and his staff. He also shares some of his favorite memories from his playing days as a Seminole, including going 4-0 against Florida and scoring a game winning touchdown against the Gators in 1989, what being a graduate of FSU means to him 30 years later and much more.
