SEC decision nixes FSU-Florida matchup

Florida State-Florida is off the schedule for both teams in 2020.

The SEC is going to a 10-game, league-only schedule slate this fall, according to multiple reports by media outlets. This means all of the ACC-SEC rivalries like FSU-Florida, Clemson-South Carolina, Georgia-Georgia Tech and Kentucky-Louisville.

FSU and Florida have played each year since 1958. The 2020 game was set to be played in November in Tallahassee.

But if there is a solution, forget all of the traditional bowl conference tie-ins and FSU vs. Florida could become a highly desirable bowl game to be held in December or January in Jacksonville, Tampa or Orlando.

Now the question remains for the regular season – Will the ACC attempt to keep a non-conference game on the schedule? And if so, who will FSU look to for a 2020 game (home or away)?
