Scott, Corbin, Robinson named to All-ACC Academic team

Atlantic Coast Conference Jim Tatum Award winner Kingsley Jonathan of Syracuse headlines the 2020 All-ACC Academic Football Team, announced Monday by the league office.

Minimum academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one’s academic career. Athletic achievements during the most recent season are also considered in selecting the All-ACC Academic Team. All 15 ACC Football member institutions were represented on the team. Duke led all schools with 11 selections, followed by Clemson (9) and Miami (9). The ACC has selected an All-ACC Academic Football Team every year since 1954. The team was chosen from a pool of ACC football student-athletes who were nominated by their schools.

Three Florida State players made the team: offensive lineman Robert Scott, tailback Jashaun Corbin and defensive end Janarius Robinson.

Scott, who started seven games, earned the honor in his first year at FSU. Corbin had 81 carries for 401 yards and five touchdowns. Robinson had 26 tackles and three sacks and is practicing this week at the Senior Bowl.

“I’m thrilled for these three to be recognized for their efforts on the field and in the classroom,” FSU coach Mike Norvell said. “It’s exciting to see our student-athletes challenging themselves to excel in every facet of their lives. Our dedication to the classroom has been evident through a program-record GPA in the spring of 2020 and continues to be showcased with honors such as this.”
