Logan Lacey went 3 for 4 with a run scored and Brett Roberts went 2 for 2 with two runs scored and a sacrifice fly in FSU’s 6-3 loss to Florida on Tuesday in Jacksonville.
Lacey had a season-high three hits but he was robbed of a three-run home run by Florida left fielder Wyatt Langford. FSU left 11 runners on base, scoring just a run in the fourth and leaving the bases loaded. The Seminoles were just 1 for 10 with runners in scoring position.
The Seminoles dropped to 16-8, while UF is 18-7.
Carson Montgomery (3-1) tossed five innings, scattering eight hits but allowing five earned runs. He had six strikeouts and gave up two walks.
UF started Garrett Milchin as an “opener,” with the left-hander going just 2.1 innings. The Gators used five pitchers, allowed nine hits and six walks. Blake Purnell earned the save, tossing 2.2 hitless innings.
