Report: FSU to hire Dillingham as offensive coordinator

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Kenny Dillingham is leaving Auburn to join Mike Norvell’s staff as Florida State’s offensive coordinator, according to a report by Yahoo’s Pete Thamel.

Dillingham worked with Norvell at Arizona State (2014-15) and Memphis (2016-18).

Norvell has already committed to retaining assistant coach Odell Haggins, but Dillingham is the first other hire as he builds his staff.

It’s not immediately clear when Dillingham will arrive in Tallahassee or if he will coach Auburn’s bowl game.

The move almost certainly means that current FSU offensive coordinator Kendal Briles will be moving on in 2020. Briles could be a candidate at Florida Atlantic as head coach or he could follow Lane Kiffin to Ole Miss (Briles and Kiffin coached together at FAU in 2017).

Yes. It has been a busy day and it just wasn’t posted to Twitter yet. And, really, when the news broke we were recording a podcast. Multi tasking.
