FSU got some either really good news or some not so good news on Monday night on the recruiting front. Class of 2021 defensive tackle prospect Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins announced that Florida State was among the final six schools he was considering.
There is a “catch” with Ingram-Dawkins’ top-six, which also includes South Carolina, Tennessee, Penn State, North Carolina and Georgia. The 6-foot-5 and 300-pound rising senior has already made his commitment known to the coaches at the school of his choice privately.
“It’s a great place,” Ingram-Dawkins told The State newspaper in Columbia, S.C. “That’s really all I can say. It’s a great place. It’s a great place and there’s great football played there. They were just fired up (when he gave them the news).”
One telling sign for FSU fans may be the fact that Ingram-Dawkins has reportedly taken unofficial visits to Tennessee, South Carolina and Georgia but has not visited the other schools in his top six.
Ingram-Dawkins is rated a three-star prospect in 247Sports Composite rankings. They also Gaffney (SC) HS product ranked as the 22nd-best defensive tackle prospect in the country.
