Sammie Puisis and Morgan Jones had 15 points apiece as the Florida State women’s basketball team pulled away in the second half to pick up a road win over Virginia Tech, 73-63 on Thursday afternoon. Jones had 12 points in the second half.
Kourtney Weber added 15 points for the Seminoles (4-1, 3-1 ACC). The Seminoles picked up their first road win of the 2020-21 season.
Puisis made five three-pointers for FSU, which made 10 of 16 shots from beyond the arc.
The Seminoles led 37-31 at the half but outscored the Hokies 22-9 in the third period.
FSU shot 21 of 22 (95.5 percent) from the line on Thursday, the third-highest free-throw percentage in a game in program history.
One of the ACC’s best shooting teams, Virginia Tech was held to 39.7 percent shooting from the floor.
