Prean likes ‘blueprint that FSU has for me’

Four-star receiver Khai Prean of Saint James, La., had Florida State in his top four earlier this week. Pren listed FSU, LSU, Mississippi State and Auburn among his finalists.

Prean outlined a few thoughts on what stood out about FSU.

“What’s important to me in a school is a place where I will enjoy being a student because I will obviously enjoy the athlete part,” Prean said in a Twitter message exchange with the Osceola. “I like the vibe and blueprint that FSU has for me.”

The 6-foot-1, 190-pound Prean is being recruited by running backs coach / recruiting coordinator David Johnson as well as receivers coach Ron Dugans.

Osceola analysts Patrick Burnham and Charles Fishbein watched film of Prean and offered their analysis.

Patrick Burnham: “Prean has reliable hands and lines up both as a slot wide receiver and outside receiver. He had really good length for someone 6-1. He is a smooth runner, who has reportedly been timed at 10.96 in the 100 meters. At times, he looks like he has an extra gear speed-wise, but he is not especially quick or explosive off the ball. As a ball carrier he shows good vision and balance both after the catch and when lined up at running back. Prean does a good job of finding green grass and getting up field after the catch.”

Charles Fishbein: “Solid receiver. He lacks great burst or top-end speed. He has nice size. He does a good job of getting open. Wonder if he will have that same success at the next level. He runs solid routes. He looks like a good No. 2 receiver. More of a possession receiver.”
