Posey, Drew named to ESPN’s all-time college baseball team

Florida State had two players honored as part of ESPN’s greatest all-time players of college baseball.

Catcher Buster Posey won 40.4 percent of the fan vote. Posey hit .398 with 33 home runs and 206 RBI. He also had 10 saves and a 1.18 ERA in 2008 as a junior.

Center fielder J.D. Drew earned 31.6 percent of the fan vote. Drew was the only 30 homer-30 stolen base player in Division I baseball history, achieving that mark in 1997 as a junior. In his career, Drew hit .391 with 69 home runs and 257 RBI win an on-base percentage of .521.

The other outfielders were Barry Bonds and Joe Carter. Third baseman Robin Ventura, shortstop Alex Bregman, second baseman Todd Walker and first baseman Will Clark were also honored.

Ben McDonald was the best right-handed pitcher, while Greg Swindell was the top left-handed pitcher. Huston Street was the top reliever. John Olerud was the best two-way player.
