Polite decides to turn pro

Florida State’s best defender has decided to turn pro. Guard Anthony Polite’s decision was first reported by CBS Sports.com on Tuesday afternoon and confirmed by the Osceola.

Polite averaged 9.9 points, 5.6 rebounds and 2.5 assists in the 2021-22 season. While he missed a month due to wrist surgery, Polite returned to help FSU grab wins over Notre Dame and NC State to close the regular season. He was considered a redshirt senior but had an extra year, if he chose to come back, due to the COVID season of 2019-20.

FSU’s roster will see major changes for the season ahead, although standout freshman guard Matthew Cleveland has announced he will return for year 2 at FSU. Brown forward Jaylan Gainey has announced he will transfer to FSU.

RayQuan Evans, Tanor Ngom, Harrison Prieto and Justin Lindner have seen their eligibility expired. Wyatt Wilkes has opted not to play for FSU next season, while Malik Osborne has not announced his intentions. Quincy Ballard has also entered the transfer portal.
