Pair of 2022 prospects have FSU in top 10, new QB offer out

As you would expect FSU remains very active on the recruiting front. Head coach Mike Norvell and his staff have offered at least four prospects for the class of 2022 over the last week. They are also among the leaders in the recruitment of a pair of prospects for the 2022 recruiting cycle.

On Tuesday morning wide receiver Chandler “CJ” Smith from Orlando (Fla.) Bishop Moore announced on Twitter that he has cut his list of potential college landing spots down to 10 schools. FSU made the cut as did Florida, UCF, Auburn, South Carolina, Iowa State, Michigan, Arkansas, Tennessee and West Virginia.

The rising senior caught 23 passes for 361 yards as a junior. He is rated as a three-star prospect by 247Sports, which also ranks him as the 131st-best WR in the country for 2022 and the 133rd-best overall prospect from Florida.

Norvell and staff also got some good news from Nebraska on Monday. Tight end prospect Kaden Helms, 6-5 and 222 pounds, from Bellevue (Neb.) West High announced on Twitter that FSU was among the top 10 schools left in his recruitment. That list also includes Arizona State, Auburn, Iowa, Iowa State, LSU, Miami, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Tennessee. However, as you will see in the tweet below it comes with a disclaimer.

Helms caught 25 passes for 322 yards in seven games in 2020. He is rated as a three-star prospect by 247Sports, which also ranks him as the 17th-best tight end in the class of 2022 and the 4th-best overall prospect from Nebraska.
