FSU coach Mike Norvell and offensive line coach Alex Atkins have added another offensive lineman to their 2020 recruiting class. Conway (Ark.) High School offensive tackle Robert Scott has signed his National Letter-of-Intent with the Seminoles.
Scott, 6-5 and 310-pounds, is a 247Sports three-star offensive tackle who has been committed to Ole Miss. He visited FSU and other schools in January before making his decision. He is ranked at the 39th best offensive tackle prospect in the nation and the 5th best overall prospect in the state of Arkansas.
In addition to Scott, FSU signed offensive linemen Zane Herring, Thomas Shrader and Lloyd Willis during the early signing period in December. The Seminoles have also added Florida International graduate transfer Devontay Taylor.
Here is our evaluation of Scott from earlier this month after watching his HUDL tape:
“It’s easy to see Scott’s potential and why he still has some big-time programs bidding for his services. He is long and lean as his physical stats suggest. Scott is more accomplished as a run blocker at this stage in his development, but his long arms are definitely an asset in pass blocking. He has good but not great feet, but he does an outstanding job of running his feet through contact, establishes inside hands well, and works hard to stay engaged with and finish his blocks. Scott is also very good at working his way up to the second level of the defense and passing off defenders with whomever he is working a combo block. He has some work to do fundamentally and in the weight room but has a good skill set and is a prospect whose best football is in front of him.”
