FSU got its first commitment from a class of 2021 offensive lineman earlier this week when Ocala (Fla.) Trinity Catholic High guard Jake Slaughter declared his intentions to play college football for the Seminoles. The rising senior had a list of offers that included Arkansas, Georgia Tech, Miami, Ole Miss and Virginia among others.
Amarius Mims, another highly sought offensive line prospect from Bleckley County (Ga.) High, list the Seminoles among the top 10 schools he is considering. That list also includes Alabama, Georgia, Auburn, Clemson, LSU, Oregon, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Florida.
Osceola recruiting Analyst Charles Fishbein, Osceola Football Analyst and former FSU offensive lineman Mark Salva and myself sat down earlier this week to watch film and evaluate both prospects.
The 6-foot-4 and 300-pound Slaughter is ranked as No. 8 prospect at center in the nation and the 88th best overall prospect from the state of Florida by 247Sports.
Mims, 6-7 and 315 pounds, is ranked as the 8th best overall prospect and the 2nd best offensive tackle in the nation by 247Sports. They also have him ranked as the best overall prospect from Georgia.
