Hamsah Nasirildeen played just a series against Wake Forest before a targeting call ended his night.
He returned to the field against Syracuse and had a career day - 17 tackles, nine of them solo tackles, as well as a sack in the 35-17 win over the Orange.
Nasirildeen was motivated after missing the loss against Wake.
