Jim Leavitt walked onto the Florida State football practice field on Thursday morning, prepared to advise and help a defense that has struggled in its first two games of 2019.
The former USF coach and longtime defensive coordinator has been hired as a senior defensive analyst. Leavitt was the defensive coordinator on Taggart’s staff at Oregon in 2017 but he parted ways with the Ducks following the 2018 season.
