Morgan Jones scored 12 points and pulled down 10 rebounds, while freshmen O’Mariah Gordon and Mykala Timpson had 12 points apiece as the Florida State women’s basketball team defeated Illinois 67-58 on Thursday night.
Jones shot 6 of 12 from the floor and added six assists for No. 25 FSU (5-2). Timpson shot 5 of 9 from the floor and added nine rebounds. Gordon shot 5 of 7 from the floor and added four rebounds.
Bianca Jackson returned after missing three games. She scored five points and had two assists.
The Seminoles shot 28 of 65 (43.1 percent) from the floor and 6 of 21 (28.6 percent) from 3-point range.
FSU held Illinois to just 18 of 53 (34 percent) from the floor.
