Jackson helps FSU improve to 5-0 at home with win over Syracuse

The Florida State women’s basketball team has simply been at its best at home this season.

Bianca Jackson scored 18 points and had five assists as the Seminoles knocked off Syracuse 67-52 on Thursday night. FSU had dropped three straight games to Syracuse.

Morgan Jones added 13 points and seven rebounds for FSU (7-5, 6-5). Kourtney Weber also had eight points and five of FSU’s 10 steals.

“I could not be more excited and proud of how we responded tonight,” interim head coach Brooke Wyckoff said. “Our girls stepped up to the challenge tonight against a really good Syracuse team. We had some players step up and they did it together as a team.”

The Seminoles are 5-0 at home in the 2020-21 season.

Kamilla Cardoso had 14 points for Syracuse, which fell to 11-5, 8-5. 

River Baldwin had eight rebounds and Valencia Myers added seven rebounds as the Seminoles outrebounded the Orange 39-33.

FSU shot 25 of 57 (44 percent) from the floor and 7 of 12 (58.3 percent) from 3-point range. 

Syracuse was just 17 of 56 (30.4 percent) from the floor and 4 of 23 (17.4 percent) from 3-point range.
