Running back Anthony Grant is no longer with the Florida State football team, a school spokesperson confirmed on Monday afternoon.
Grant did not play in 2019 but was a part of the program. As a freshman in 2018, Grant played in 12 games and mostly saw playing time on special teams. He led FSU with 11 kick returns for 247 yards (22.5 yards per return). Grant also had five carries and nine tackles on special teams.
FSU has restocked at running back and is in good shape despite losing Cam Akers to the NFL a year early. The Seminoles also have veteran backs like Khalan Laborn and Texas A&M transfer Jashaun Corbin as well as junior-college transfer Ladamian Webb and incoming freshmen Lawrance Toafili, Ja’Khi Douglas and Corey Wren.
And FSU also has walk-ons Deonte Sheffield and Treshaun Ward, both saw playing time in FSU’s bowl game against Arizona State.
