Florida State women’s basketball standouts Kiah Gillespie and River Baldwin earned Atlantic Coast Conference weekly honors on Monday.
Gillespie picked up her second ACC Player of the Week award this season, being named the league’s co-player of the week along with Miami’s Beatrice Mompremier. River Baldwin was honored as the ACC Freshman of the Week.
Gillespie enjoyed a phenomenal homecoming at the Mohegan Sun on Sunday, becoming just the third Seminole to record a triple-double in a 79-69 win over No. 24 Michigan. She is one of just 10 players in the NCAA to achieve the triple-double feat this season.
Baldwin wins her first freshman of the week award after averaging a team-best 15.5 points per game in FSU’s two wins over UNF and Michigan. Against UNF, Baldwin recorded a career-best 19 points (8-of-10) to go along with eight rebounds and three steals. She added 12 points in FSU’s third Top 25 win of the season over No. 24 Michigan.
Baldwin, an Andalusia, Ala., native, shot 80 percent (12-of-15) from the floor last week.
