Notre Dame potential starters: 6-foot-9 F John Mooney (15.7 ppg., 13.9 rpg.), 6-11 F Juwan Durham (7.8 ppg., 5.8 rpg.), 6-3 G T.J. Gibbs (13.3 ppg., 2.6 rpg.), 6-3 G Prentiss Hubb (12.6 ppg., 5.0 assists), 6-6 G Rex Pflueger (4.6 ppg., 3.3 rpg.).
FSU will win if: The Seminoles must minimize the damage from Mooney, who is a threat to have a double-double every game. Mooney is among the best big men that FSU has played this year. But FSU must also be cognizant of Notre Dame’s penchant to take (and make) 3-pointers. The Seminoles should again showcase their depth and play good defense against an Irish team that doesn’t turn it over often.
Closing in on 1,000: Trent Forrest has 996 career points. He would become the 48th player in FSU history to score 1,000 or more points in his career.
Injury update: Balsa Koprivica (back) may return after missing four games and FSU may be without Williams (toe), Hamilton said on Thursday.
