FSU’s game at BC postponed

The Florida State men’s basketball team was set to return to the court on Wednesday, but Boston College is in the COVID protocol and can not play the game.

FSU-BC, Duke-Clemson and Virginia Tech-UNC are the three games on Wednesday that have also been postponed. ESPN.com reported Monday morning that Duke would also see its Saturday game against Notre Dame be postponed.

Schools will look to reschedule the games under the revised league policy approved by the ACC’s athletics directors, which shifts from an automatic forfeit for any team unable to play toward one where games will be made up at a later date.

That will likely force games to be played on short turnarounds or teams would have to give up their scheduled bye weeks. FSU has a bye between road games at Duke (Feb. 19) and at Virginia (Feb. 26), which could allow for a midweek game.

The Seminoles (6-4) did not play scheduled games against UCF and North Florida before the Christmas break. FSU will next play at NC State on Jan. 1 at 4 p.m. (ACC Network).
