With the help of the soccer team’s national championship, Florida State is ranked No. 9 in the Learfield Director’s Cup standings that were released on Thursday morning.
FSU has 259 points, with 100 given for the soccer title. The Seminoles also had top-20 finishes in volleyball as well as men’s and women’s cross country.
BYU is the No. 1 team as its soccer and women’s cross country teams each finished second. Notre Dame is No. 2, followed by Michigan, Wisconsin and Penn State. North Carolina is at No. 6, with Arkansas being the top SEC school at No. 8.
FSU is well ahead of some of its biggest rivals, including No. 26 Clemson, No. 58 Florida and No. 102 Miami.
National championships by NC State in women’s cross country, FSU in women’s soccer and Clemson in men’s soccer highlighted the ACC’s fall sports seasons.
