The coronavirus pandemic has delayed the start of the FSU women’s basketball season, as Florida A&M has opted to back out of playing in 2020-21.
FAMU began preseason camp with a limited number of players and is unable to play women’s basketball, the school announced on Monday afternoon. FSU was set to play at FAMU on Wednesday.
The Seminoles will now open on Sunday against Florida at the Donald L. Tucker Center. A game time and TV information will be announced later this week.
Earlier on Monday, FSU interim coach Brooke Wyckoff announced three personnel moves. Reserve guard Amaya Brown, who had a setback in her rehabilitation from knee surgery, will likely take a medical redshirt. Transfer forward Erin Howard and transfer guard Tiana England are not yet medically cleared. Neither is COVID-related, Wyckoff and an FSU spokesperson said.
