FSU to kick off season at night vs. Boise

Florida State fans can now begin mapping out the first three weeks of college football season

The ACC announced on Thursday that FSU’s season opener against Boise State in Jacksonville will start at 7 p.m. and be nationally televised by ESPN.

FSU will play its first three games in the evening. After Boise State, the Seminoles will play ULM in their home opener on Sept. 7 at 5 p.m. (ACC Network) and the ACC opener at Virginia on Sept. 14 at 7:30 p.m. (ACC Network).

Tickets for FSU-Boise are on sale now. Go to seminoles.com for more information.

The announcement of a nighttime kickoff is fan-friendly – there’s time to do activities like go to the beach, fish or play golf in the morning but still have time to tailgate before going to TIAA Bank Field for the game.

“We’re pleased with the opportunities our schools have to nationally showcase their programs on both linear networks and digital platforms,” said ACC Commissioner John Swofford.

The rest of the kick times for FSU’s nine regular-season games will be announced later in the fall.
