FSU softball earns No. 2 seed in NCAA Tournament

The Florida State softball team didn’t have to wait long to hear its named called on Sunday night. FSU will play host to a four-team NCAA Regional this weekend against Mississippi State, South Florida and Howard.

FSU (52-5) is hosting a regional for an eighth straight season and will open against Howard on Friday at 8:30 p.m. (ESPN+). The Mississippi State-South Florida game will be played at 6 p.m. (ESPNU) in a double-elimination regional that concludes on Sunday. A limited number of tickets will be available on Monday on Seminoles.com.

“We’re super excited coming off the ACC championship,” outfielder Kalei Harding said. “We feel like we’re right where we need to be. … I’ve definitely learned a lot about myself on the field this year. I’m ready to hit the ground running.”

The Seminoles played 21 ranked teams, knocking off the likes of Texas, Michigan, UCF and UCLA in February. FSU also defeated Clemson (four times), Florida (twice), Alabama, Duke and Oklahoma State.
