Florida State announced the addition of South Florida transfer Bethany Keen on Wednesday. Keen and Illinois State transfer Mack Leonard are two of the new pieces to the softball team.
“BK is an elite defender at first base and will shore up our defense immediately,” FSU assistant coach Travis Wilson said. “She has a line-drive stroke to all fields and is a student of the game. We are excited about the experience she will bring to Tallahassee and her love for the game will be evident to Seminole fans. We’ve known BK for a long time and could not be more thrilled she is joining us.”
Keen has started 190 games of her career at USF over four seasons. She finished her career at USF with a .272 batting average, 149 hits, 28 doubles, three triples, 13 home runs and 99 RBI. Keen finished the 2021 season at USF second on the team in batting average (.299), second in hits (41), second in doubles (6), and first in RBI (24).
“I couldn’t be more excited to be a part of team 39 for my final year of eligibility,” Keen said. “Being a part of the family and culture at FSU is what I am extremely excited for and to compete for another national championship. I came to FSU softball camps when I was younger, so it is cool to see everything come full circle. Go Noles!”
