The Florida State softball team has added versatile Illinois State transfer Mack Leonard, the program announced on Tuesday.
In three years at Illinois State, Leonard played in 92 games with 81 starts. She started 27 games in the circle for the Redbirds and made 51 appearances as a pitcher.
Leonard also had a .405 career batting average, including a .443 average in 2020 and a .425 average in 2021. This spring, Leonard led the team with 10 home runs, 38 RBI, 36 runs scored, 26 walks, eight doubles and two triples.
“We could not be more excited to add Mack to Team 39,” FSU assistant coach Travis Wilson said. “She is coming off an incredible three-year run at Illinois State where she performed both at the plate and in the circle. She will add left-handed power to our lineup and depth to our pitching staff immediately. She has a passion for the game of softball and wants to compete at the highest level. We are lucky to have such a special player and person choose our program.”
