Three-star offensive lineman Kimo Makaneole made a commitment to Florida State on Sunday night.
The 6-foot-4, 280-pound Makaneole is the second offensive line commit to the 2021 class, joining center/guard Bryson Estes. Makaneole plays for Niceville (Fla.) High and projects as a guard or tackle.
“Do what you can and do it like a Makaneole,” he posted on Twitter on Sunday night. “This is the motto that I was raised with an I never understood what that meant until now. … When I started seeing my dreams slowly becoming reality it gives me motivation to continue to strive like a Makaneole.”
Makaneole moves very well for a man his size and has good footwork. His highlight video includes him dominating defensive linemen, although many of them are far smaller than him. He is considered one of the top 100 prospects in the state by 247Sports. (Osceola recruiting analyst Charles Fishbein offers analysis of Makaneole on our message board.)
Jake Slaughter backed off his commitment to FSU and made a pledge to Florida on Friday.
