Florida State formally announced the signing of graduate transfer Dillan Gibbons. The offensive lineman went into the transfer portal after spring practice at Notre Dame and chose FSU in May.
“We’re incredibly excited to add Dillan Gibbons to our program,” FSU coach Mike Norvell said. “He brings a wealth of experience not only on game day but also preparing with a competition mindset every day for those opportunities. He also possesses strong leadership qualities and a phenomenal work ethic. Dillan is another Florida native who will finish his career in his home state, helping us continue to climb in all aspects.”
Gibbons played at Clearwater Central Catholic and went on to participate in 29 games (one start at Notre Dame). In 2020, Gibbons played in 11 games with one start.
The 6-foot-4, 309-pound Gibbons is an added piece with valuable experience to an FSU line that often featured freshmen and redshirt freshmen in 2020. At various times, four freshmen started on the offensive line — the first time that has happened at FSU since 2011.
