After offering now fewer than eight prospects on Tuesday, FSU was back on the virtual recruiting trail again on Wednesday with a focus on more immediate needs. All of the offers that went out on Tuesday were to prospects in the 2023 and 2024 recruiting classes. That was not the case Wednesday as three of the four prospects that announced they had received offers are 2022 prospects, two of which have already begun scheduling official visits for this summer.
DE Derrick Brown (6-4, 210)-Texarkana (Tx.) Texas High
Brown announced his offer from FSU on Wednesday. He is a considered to be a four-star prospect and is ranked as the 16th-best weak side defensive end prospect in the class of 2022. Brown has reportedly already set four of his five NCAA-allowable official visits so FSU will have to work fast in order to secure his fifth. He is reported to be visiting Texas, Texas A&M and Baylor this summer and will take an official visit to Oklahoma in September. Among the schools competing with FSU for that final visit are Arkansas, Colorado, Georgia Tech, Penn State, Oklahoma State, Ole Miss, TCU and Utah.
