Florida State lost two players – quarterback James Blackman and linebacker Jaiden Lars-Woodbey – to injury in the third quarter of Saturday’s game.
Blackman went down first, clutching his left knee. He was able to get up and put pressure on the left leg as he received help getting to the sideline. Blackman spent a long time in FSU’s injury tent on the sideline, then moved to the stationary bike and later was walking around with his left knee iced.
“We’ll know more on that (Sunday),” FSU coach Willie Taggart said. “Got to get an MRI. Good to see him walking on it right now.”
Lars-Woodbey was carted off with 9:48 left in the third quarter. He was rolled from behind by an FSU player. Lars-Woodbey, with his left leg in a stabilizing brace, was carted off the field and clearly emotional.
Taggart said that Lars-Woodbey would also be evaluated on Sunday.
Safety Cyrus Fagan was injured and briefly spent time in the injury tent before jogging along the sideline. He returned to the game and had an interception.
Tight end Gabe Nabers walked off to the FSU locker room in the third quarter. Nabers later returned to the game.
