Florida State basketball made it official on Tuesday, announcing the signings of transfer forward Jaylan Gainey and transfer guard Darin Green Jr.
A 6-foot-4 guard from Charlotte, N.C., Green Jr. averaged 13.3 points and 2.6 rebounds for UCF in 2021-22, making 87 of 226 shots (38.5 percent) from 3-point range.
A 6-foot-9 forward from Greensboro, N.C., Gainey averaged 9.3 points and 6.9 rebounds last season at Brown. He also blocked 2.1 shots per game and is highly regarded for his defense. His best stretch of the 2021-22 season came toward the end as Gainey averaged 14.4 points in the final seven games. Gainey was also named the Ivy League’s defensive player of the year last season.
Malik Osborne has not announced his intentions for the next season. Matthew Cleveland previously stated his plans to play for FSU in 2022-23.
