Florida State basketball landed four-star center John Butler, adding to an impressive 2021 class.

The 6-foot-11, 180-pound Butler made the announcement at Greenville (S.C.) Christ Church Episcopal School. He said he feels FSU was the best fit for him.

“I’m proud to announce I will be playing in the ACC for the Florida State Seminoles and coach Leonard Hamilton,” Butler said in a ceremony that was broadcast from his high school.

In his junior season, Butler averaged 17 points, eight rebounds and three blocks.

Butler had a dozen offers, including schools like Wake Forest, Virginia Tech, Clemson, Tennessee and Alabama. He was not able to take an official visit but felt FSU was the right place for him to develop.

“What really put me over to Florida State is just the track record – what they’ve been doing with players similar to my play type,” Butler told local reporters at the ceremony. “How successful they have been.”

Butler adds to what is an impressive 2021 class. The Seminoles also have commitments from five-star guard Matt Cleveland and four-star guard Bryce McGowens.

Top recruiting class in ACC. Second in the nation, with more commitments to come. You go Leonard!

I’m trying to figure out 6-11 and 180.
