FSU headed to Sun Bowl to take on Arizona State

In addition to learning who its new head football coach was today, FSU players, boosters and fans also learned where and who the Seminoles will play in a bowl game to end the 2019 season and officially move into the Mike Norvell era.

Florida State (6-6) will take on Arizona State (7-5) in the Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl, which is played on Dec. 31. in El Paso, Texas. The game is scheduled to kick off at 2 p.m. ET.

“We are thrilled to be invited to El Paso for the opportunity to play in the Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl,” FSU athletics director David Coburn said. “We will face an outstanding program in Arizona State, which should make for an exciting game. Our team and staff are excited about spending time in a different part of the country. It will be a chance for Seminole fans in the southwest to see their ‘Noles in person.”

The Sun Devils are led by head coach Herm Edwards, who has compiled a 14-11 overall record and 9-9 record against in PAC-12 opponents in his two seasons in Tempe.

    This is a great bowl considering some of the other destinations. I believe CBS covers this. Usually is very cold in El Paso that time of the year

      We played there when I was in football operations at USF and it is a little chilly in west Texas that time of year. That being said the bowl committee and volunteers that work with the Sun Bowl were unbelievable to our players and staff. The Sun Bowl as a great reputation for its hospitality.
