FSU grabs 7th overall and 2nd CB commit for 2021 class

FSU coach Mike Norvell gained the seventh commitment for his 2021 recruiting class Monday when cornerback prospect Kevin Knowles from Hollywood (Fla.) McArthur HS gave his pledge to Florida State.

Knowles, who is 5-foot-10 and 168 pounds, joins Hunter Washington as the second commitment in the secondary for the Seminoles’ 2021 recruiting class. The rising senior also reportedly had offers from a list of schools that included Clemson, Florida, Louisville, Miami, Kentucky and USF among others.

247Sports has Knowles rated as a three-star and also ranks him as the 36th-best CB in the country and the 76th-best overall prospect in Florida for the class of 2021.

“Knowles is another long, athletic defensive back,” Osceola recruiting analyst Charles Fishbein said. “He has very good range and you better not be late throwing it his way. He will pick the ball off and possibly take it back the other way for a touchdown. He has good ball skills and is very physical.”

FSU now ranks 32nd in the country and 7th in the ACC in the 247Sports 2021 recruiting rankings. FSU was ranked 49th in the nation before Washington’s commitment and moved up to 37th after his commitment.
