Some other highlights from Taggart’s speech to fans:
On FSU and 2019 season: Taggart said last season “is in the past and it’s gone. It won’t happen again. But the one thing that frustrates me the most is when we lose faith in Florida State Seminoles. We’re ‘Noles for a reason. We’re here for a reason. Just become we hit some bumps don’t mean we don’t keep our eyes on the prize. It’s just a little bump.”
Taggart is ready for the opener. “I can’t wait until next Saturday, to watch our guys go out and play. 2019 will be different. There’s going to be a lot of different about this football team. And a different that you all can be happy about, pleased about and go home every weekend this fall happy about Florida State football. I promise you, you will be excited about this football team and proud of this football team. … I’m ready to see them hit somebody else.”
On academics: Taggart says that 34 players had a 3.0 GPA or higher this summer. Athletics director David Coburn said that the football team has had two very good academic semesters in a row.
