FSU baseball falls at Louisville in opener

The Florida State baseball team struggled from the start and suffered a 14-1 loss at No. 9 Louisville on Thursday night in the opener of a three-game series.

Robby Martin had an RBI single in the eighth to score FSU’s run. Martin and Salvatore each had two hits for the Seminoles (34-19).

Drew Parrish didn’t make it out of the second inning, giving up nine earned runs as Louisville jumped ahead 12-0 after two innings.

Reid Detmers had 11 strikeouts in six innings for the Cardinals (42-12).

FSU and Louisville play game 2 of the series on Friday night, with a live stream on ACC Network Extra. The third game against the Cardinals is Saturday at 1 p.m. (also on ACC Network Extra). That will be the final game of the regular season ahead of next week’s ACC Tournament.
