Florida State will pay Alabama State $400,000 to play a football game at Doak Campbell Stadium on Nov. 16.
Alabama State will earn an additional $25,000 if the school’s band is able to make the trip, according to details of the contract that was released to the Osceola.
FSU will play Alabama State and then have a bye week ahead of the regular-season finale at Florida. The Gators will play at Missouri on Nov. 16 and then have a bye before facing the Seminoles.
The guarantee to Alabama State represents a similar amount to what FSU has offered prior FCS opponents. Samford earned $500,000 for a 2018 game in Tallahassee.
FSU is also paying a guarantee of $1.65 million to ULM for the Sept. 7 home opener as part of a contract that had been previously released.
Costs for Power 5 programs to schedule Group of 5 opponents have gone up across the nation the past few years. FSU paid Northern Illinois $1.6 million for a 2018 home game, while ULM received $1.35 million to play FSU in 2017.
FSU opens the 2019 season against Boise State at Jacksonville on Aug. 31.
