FSU continues to gain momentum in building upon its 2022 recruiting class. On Friday night head coach Mike Norvell secured the commitment of four-star defensive tackle Trevion Williams from Crystal Springs (Miss.) High School.
Williams, who is 6-foot-4 and 250 pounds, committed to Norvell on the second day of his official to Florida State. Norvell and defensive line coach Odell Haggins offered Williams earlier this month after his performance in FSU’s Elite Camp on June 5.
The commitment comes just a week removed from Williams taking an official visit to Auburn. Ole Miss and Mississippi State were also heavily involved in his recruitment. Ranked as the No. 31 DT prospect in the country, Williams also holds offers from Tennessee, Virginia Tech and Memphis.
“Williams is a prospect that camped at FSU this summer,” said Osceola Recruiting Analyst Charles Fishbein. “He dominated the camp and ended up receiving an offer from the Seminoles. His size and quickness allows you to play him anywhere along the defensive line and get production. Williams is super quick off the ball and should offer a pass rush off the edge. His size will allow him to hold up against the run. Williams will look like a different person in two years after being in a college strength and conditioning program.”
Florida State’s 2022 recruiting class now ranks 8th in the nation and first in the ACC, according to 247Sports.
Williams is the 10th prospect to commit to FSU for 2022.
