Fans gathered to support Noles in Winston-Salem

Alex Abrams wrote this story about the tailgate before FSU-Wake on Saturday for The Osceola:

Florida State fans gathered Saturday afternoon in Winston-Salem, N.C., only a short drive from the ACC headquarters in nearby Greensboro.

More than 115 fans, mostly from across North Carolina, showed their support for the Seminoles at a tailgate held just outside Truist Field prior to FSU’s 35-14 loss to Wake Forest.

The tailgate was a collaboration between the Seminole Clubs in the Piedmont Triad region, Charlotte and Raleigh. The event attracted garnet-and-gold fans from as far as Florida, Alabama and Washington, DC.

With music blaring, the large crowd of fans at the tailgate took photos with FSU’s cheerleaders and ate ribs, sliders and baked ziti, catered by BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse in Winston-Salem.

Michael Alford, president and CEO of the Seminole Boosters, stopped by the tailgate and interacted with fans.
