Dillingham heading to Oregon as coordinator

Florida State will have another opening for an assistant coach.

Kenny Dillingham has reportedly accepted a job as Oregon’s offensive coordinator. The move was first reported by Noles247. Dillingham has worked with new Ducks coach Dan Lanning when they were both on Memphis’ staff under coach Mike Norvell.

Dillingham has followed Norvell from Arizona State to Memphis to FSU.

It’s an announcement that comes on early signing day, although Norvell has likely reached out to FSU’s commits and targets to make them aware of the news.

The Seminoles averaged 27.6 points per game in 2021, up from 25.8 in 2020. Against only Power 5 opponents, FSU averaged 25.5 points per game in 2021. A year ago FSU scored 23.9 points vs. P5 teams — but the 56 points in a rout of Duke in December 2020 skew the numbers significantly.

Norvell has already had one vacancy and filled it by promoting Randy Shannon from senior defensive analyst to linebackers coach / co-defensive coordinator.

Noles247 has reported that offensive line coach Alex Atkins will be elevated to offensive coordinator.
