I Googled the question and found this quote by Marcus Aurelius, Emperor of the Roman Empire from 161 to his death in 180.
“Everything we hear is an opinion, not a fact. Everything we see is a perspective, not the truth.”
Lawyers use the quote against eyewitness testimony and football coaches might try it when explaining their choice of a quarterback.
